COVID-19 – A Message From YMCA Scotland’s Chief Executive

YMCA is deeply concerned about the impact COVID-19 will have on young people, families and local communities during this unprecedented time.

The economic consequences of the Coronavirus will have a lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable young people, with the crisis is pushing many further into isolation and poverty.

YMCA has a history of pulling together at times of crisis.  During the first and second World Wars, YMCAs supported soldiers on the front lines. In the same way, we will continue to support young people through this crisis.

Whilst many of our projects have had to be put on hold, YMCAs across Scotland are working tirelessly to develop online solutions.

YMCA has been at the forefront of digital youth work in Scotland over recent years, and we are using this expertise to adapt our current services. We want to ensure that those who are isolated or struggling with mental health won’t have to face this tumultuous time alone.

During this period, our local YMCAs are continuing to support their communities, whilst facing financial disruption and uncertainty.  Your continued support really makes a difference.
