National Records of Scotland Donated Chromebooks

Donation of Scotland’s Census 2022 equipment to Scottish Voluntary and Charitable Organisations

The YMCA Glenrothes are pleased to be receiving two Chromebooks from National Records of Scotland (NRS) to continue our work with digital inclusion across Fife.

More than 400 Chromebooks and 130 mobile phones have been provided to a wide range of voluntary and charitable organisations across Scotland by NRS as part of the legacy of Scotland’s Census 2022.

NRS donated the Chromebooks and mobile phones, which were used by the census field staff last year.

Linda Sinclair, Director of Corporate Services at NRS, said:

“We are pleased to be able to donate this equipment to well deserving voluntary and charitable organisations, particularly at a time of rising costs for everyone. It is important that where we can, we support the reuse of equipment for wider benefit and a more sustainable impact.

“We received a huge number of applications and I am sure all those organisations receiving the equipment will make good use of it.”

Charities across Scotland were invited to bid for the equipment with more 550 bid applications received in total.

Thankyou National Records of Scotland!
