What We Do

YMCA Glenrothes is an independent local charity which is governed by local volunteers from Fife and affiliated to the worldwide YMCA movement. The charity works with many other organisations in Fife as well as YMCAs in Scotland.

All three sites deliver community opportunities and two also provide supported homeless accommodation. The charity is supported by many volunteers with around 20 people giving regular and consistent
service.

YouthLife

YouthLife is a 3-year funded position by the Young Start National Lottery Community Fund and works in conjunction with Fife Council’s Community learning and development team.

Connect Fife

Connect Fife is working to end digital poverty for the people of Fife. Through community digital sessions, and work with homeless organisations we will support people to get online.

Y Academy

In early 2017, YMCA Glenrothes secured funding from the Big Lottery Fund to support the delivery of the Y Academy.

Y Music

The YMusic Project runs every Wednesday evening from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, with band rehearsal spots available on Wednesday nights from 8:00pm – 10:00pm. Why not come along and join in the fun!

Y Supported Accommodation

YMCA Glenrothes has managed homeless accommodation since 1992. It was the first Fife charity of its kind to offer shelter and support for vulnerable young homeless people in Fife.

Empty Homes

YMCA Glenrothes is actively responding to the issue of homelessness in Fife by renovating empty properties and turning them into homes for people who have experienced homelessness.

PSP Shared Accommodation Pilot

YMCA Glenrothes has managed a range of supported accommodation in Glenrothes and neighbouring villages for many years.  The type of accommodation on offer suits people at various stages of their lives, so someone can either share in a hostel, live with one or two other people in a supported flat, all prior to moving into their own tenancy in the community.
