Our Work at YMCA Scotland

YMCA Scotland is the national voice for 28 local YMCAs working with over 10,000 children and young people each week.

The YMCA is an inclusive Christian youth organisation, open to people of all faiths and none. We work to transform the lives of children and young people, empowering them to create positive change in their lives and communities.

Youth Work & Education

70% of YMCAs in Scotland provide a range of traditional youth clubs, drop-ins and street based youth work activities.  These clubs and activities are open access to all young people and are often the first point of contact between young people and youth work services.

Mentoring

We believe that every young person should have someone that they can trust. That is exactly what YMCA youth mentoring programmes provide for 360 young people across Scotland.

Health

Across Scotland, YMCAs deliver a range of health programmes from physical activity to issue-based programmes tackling issues like obesity or sexual health.

Family

14 YMCAs provide vital childcare, playwork and holiday programmes to over 3,000 children every week.

Housing

YMCA Glenrothes provides temporary supported accommodation for up to 60 people each night in hostels and shared flats.

Faith

YMCA is an inclusive Christian youth organisation, open to people of all faiths and none.
