About Us: YMCA Glenrothes supports 60 homeless people each night in staffed hostels and supported flats and provides learning and development programmes for young people, families and adults.
With 23 staff, 20 volunteers and an annual budget of around £1m, this charity plays a vital role in Youth Services, Digital Connectivity and homelessness services within Glenrothes and Fife.
YMCA Glenrothes is a leading community and homeless organisation dedicated to providing essential services, advocacy, and support to those in need. Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all.
We Are Looking For: We are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors. Ideal candidates will have experience in one or more of the following areas:
Fundraising and Development
Legal and Compliance
Community Outreach and Engagement
Financial Management
Strategic Planning
Digital Services
Marketing and Communications
What You Will Do: As a board member, you will:
Provide strategic direction and oversight
Support fundraising and resource development efforts
Advocate for our mission and programs
Ensure the organization’s financial health and sustainability
Collaborate with other board members and staff to achieve our goals

Past involvement with the voluntary sector would be advantageous, but not essential. Non-executive Board Trustees do not receive any remuneration but are eligible for expenses.
You should have some time to spare to attend meetings (averaging 0.75 day per month to include training time), an experience of working in the public, private, or voluntary sectors, and a genuine interest in helping youth and the wider community, particularly those who are disadvantaged.
Board meetings – either 5.00pm or 6.00pm Tuesday evenings (quarterly) in person and electronically.
