YMCA Glenrothes in the Community

Before we took ownership of the property, it lay empty for more than 6 months, in a sorry state of disrepair and unsuitable to live in. The windows were smashed, the property had damp, and there was even a hole in the upstairs floor. Due to funding from the Nationwide Foundation and Foundation Scotland we were able to purchase the property and bring it back into use.

Our team, lead by Bryan and supported by group of Glenrothes based contractors did an excellent job to bring the property back to life, with Bryan adding.

“The property was another enjoyable renovation for the team and it was a pleasure to see the transformation from start to finish”

Due to the amazing work of our team, we have transformed this house of bricks and mortar into a home ready to be lived in. We have added a much needed rental property onto the market in Glenrothes, with tenants moving in earlier this month.

Mary the CEO described the effects of bringing back a once derelict property back into use.  She said.

“This home had become so run down, the local community sent a petition to the Council.  We were really pleased,  thanks to the Nationwide Foundation and Foundation Scotland to refurbish this house to the Scottish Quality standard.  Most of all, YMCA Glenrothes has provided a safe home for a family to live in, for many years to come.
